At our recent Annual General Meeting of IIC Partners in Vienna, I realized that while I always complain about the amount of work required to be involved as a Director in this type of organization, it really is worthwhile.
We’re all very busy and it’s hard to take time to coordinate communications from over 60 offices in 40 countries, but that’s what being part of an organization like IIC is all about... Understanding the daily realities of the markets and industries in other countries so that you can share the news and knowledge with your clients.
I’ve also been fortunate enough to make connections with our partners on behalf of some of our clients, learned a great deal about doing business in their markets, and gained from their perspectives on a range of industries - including executive search.
It’s hard work and full of communication challenges, but the ROI is huge.
