Attracting incentive based executives can be tricky if you’re recruiting at the wrong time. Bonus payouts, stock dividends and other incentives are usually paid at year-end, so it can be very difficult to get a high performer to leave just before a big payout.
Year-end and beginning the new year is a good time to consider your hiring plans with an eye to reaching and attracting those high achieving performers BEFORE they’ve been picked up by your competition!
Even if you’re not ready to act, just starting a conversation with those individuals and initiating a relationship can help bridge the gap until you are ready to move, or at least get a heads-up before they accept another offer, giving you a chance to make a move before it’s too late.
