The Future of Executive Search
When I’m asked to look into my crystal ball, I really don’t see a vast change in the way the search business works. Businesses are always trying to change their model to meet market needs, and while I see the occasional new offering, or modifications to the basic approach, the search business is still a relationship business. Many firms now offer extensive psychological assessments and testing to complement their search activities and verify their gut instincts, including Cambridge. In addition, some now offer team assessments and team coaching to improve internal communication. Some are beginning to offer ongoing recruiting and scouting contracts, and most are seeking opportunities to partner in more strategic ways. But the basics of a high quality search will always be comprehensive market research, solid networking and in-depth assessment of candidates, and well matched skills and cultural fit. Don’t let anybody tell you different.
